What should you wear to a casting ?
Never forget that the clothes and make-up you wear reflect your personality. Just by observing your style, the person doing the hiring will be able to get an idea (maybe the wrong one) of the person you are. As your choice of clothes is important, here are some tips:
1. Avoid going to a casting dressed too provocatively
Mini-skirt and a plunging cleavage won't make it easier to get the job but risk discrediting you completely with the Professional concerned. Similarly, avoid covering every inch of your body from head to toe.
2. Wear an outfit you feel comfortable in
Wanting to squeeze into your slinkiest dress is great. Wearing comfortable clothes that you feel fabulous in is better. A pretty sleeveless top, jeans and away you go! And for the gents, a V-neck t-shirt and jeans are just perfect.
3. Wear an outfit that suits your personality
If you're flamboyant, it's useless to try and hide it by dressing in too classic a style. The people doing the hiring will soon see through you. Being yourself is the best way of catching their eye. If you're a simple person, avoid dressing up too much when you go to the casting and wear your more classic style clothes.
4. Wear clothes that flatter your shape
It's important to look your best at an audition. If you have a slim waist, wear a belt that highlights your dainty figure. If you have large thighs, avoid wearing tight trousers and opt instead for a skirt that hides them. Gents, if you're quite muscular, why not wear a tight t-shirt to show off your hard work at the gym?
5. Adopt a natural look
There's nothing worse than arriving at an audition looking made up like a painter's palette. Show those doing the hiring your natural beauty. If you must wear make-up, keep it simple! A little bit of foundation and a touch of mascara is more than enough.
6. Think about your underwear
If you have to try on outfits during the casting, it would be a shame if the agency directors see you wearing socks that don't match or your granny pants. So put nice underwear on but, once again, not too sexy !
